A note from creator Tevya Washburn
I (yes, that is a picture of me) wanted to make a short- film staring my little brothers. Something to test my abilities, teach me more about filmmaking, & have some fun with my siblings in the process. I decided on a tribute of sorts, to some of my favorite films that had fueled my imagination as a child: Star Wars & Indiana Jones.
My only problem was I needed a "Macguffin," or in other words, a reason for the story. I decided on an archeological artifact: a terra-cotta soldier from the tomb of the first Qin Emperor of China near Xian. But to tie in the Star Wars aspect, I decided a powerful object had been hidden by the Sith, inside this particular chunk of clay.
We filmed & created the original "Search for the Terra-Cotta Soldier" two years ago. But that was just a piece of what I'd originally intended. Now we've gone back and added a lot on before and after that original segment (about 20 minutes actually).
We're pleased that The Terra-Cotta Soldier has received such high praise and warm reception so far. I hope you'll watch it here on the site, then let us know what you think of it (links on the Home page). |
